Chelyabinsk City
The City of Chelyabinsk is the Capital of the administrative region of Chelyabinsk. The City was officially granted its status in 1781 and has grown since to become a prominent industrial, cultural, commerce and scientific research centre in the Southern Urals region.

The electronics, metallurgy, agricultural machinery and military equipment manufacture dominate the city’s industrial sector.

Chelyabinsk is major educational city host to a number of prominent public universities and specialist schools such as; the Agro technical University, South Ural University and the Pedagogical University.

The City has a host of tourist attractions which include theater houses, a philharmonic center, art galleries and cinemas for entertainment. Sightseeing is a pleasant activity as the city has a number of monuments such as; the famous sphere of love, monuments dedicated to Vladimir Lenin and monuments dedicated to the fallen soldiers of the Second World War. The City also has a zoo and well maintained recreational parks.
Transport:
Chelyabinsk is served by the Balandino Airport which caters mainly for domestic flights. The City is also one of the major stops along the trans-Siberian railway route.
